I think the official name for our blog should be "Ellie has arrived and here's what she is up to!"

2 months old! A Visit from Grandma Sandy! and a Snow Day!
The past couple of weeks have been big for our little one. She is officially 2 months old! And with that has come a whole lot of cooing with some intermittent squeals. And she has perfected the "oh you went to get the camera and want to record my cuteness, I shall stop making noises and stare at you blankly" face. We will get these noises soon, I am determined!!
Grandma Sandy came to visit from the Great White North! Ellie loved spending time with her and can't wait to visit her Grandma Sandy and Grandpa Jerry in Idaho this summer. Until then, Skype and Face Time are proving to be the greatest inventions of all time!
The snow was not deep...but deep enough for pictures! Well there was some shoveling involved to build up some perfectly baby sized mountains. Ellie was quite the trooper. She donned her fleece polar bear suit from Grandma Cassandra. We had to keep the photo shoot short...she is very warm bodied (might be the insulation?!?) and has proven she's most comfortable in a short sleeved onesie with leg warmers here and there.
I didn't get the memo that it was pink clothing day :)
Our happy swaddled baby burrito
Yes we love to tickle that little Buddha belly...pretty sure she's not going to forgive us in her teen years for all of these pictures!
Her Greg face...
...her Natalie face.
It's safe to say there were no hospital mixups, she is definitely ours!
The best part of this, she was asleep...definitely an expression she got from her father!
Introduction to the bottle...yeah, umm we're still working on this!
Our little polar bear cub...
...bear cubs live in gardens, right??
So they look alike huh?!
And of course the photo shoot had to end at some point!
Luckily Grandma Sandy was there to make her smile after we posed her in the cold snow!!!

Just when we thought she couldn't get any cuter...
Week 8 proved to be a very busy week! Ellie not only had visitors here at the house including two lunches and dinner (which mommy really enjoyed!), but she also went out for happy hour at the Muddy Rudder. Ellie did great and even had compliments on how adorable and surprisingly alert she is for being 8 weeks old...and the reoccurring comment, "wow, she's so big for 2 months!" Oh I feel like such a bragging mom, but I guess that's my job now :-)
Now she is resting up for her visit from Grandma Sandy!! She can't wait to meet her Grandma from the Great White North!

Ellie lounging in her favorite chair
It sure is tough being a baby :)
Someone's favorite activity! Bath time proves to be guaranteed fun time for all three of us. And shows off Ellie's other favorite activity...eating.
Tummy time is still fun...
...and we can't get enough of this little girl's smiles!
And after tummy time we have baby lounger time again.

Consolidated sleep at 7 weeks!
Although we know we shouldn't count on changes in patterns being permanent, I'd like to think that Ellie's current sleeping pattern is going to just keep getting more awesome! She has been going to bed between 9-10p and sleeping 5 hours or so before getting up for a swig of food and some special time with her dad (AKA a fresh diaper). This week's plan: Ellie sleeps in her own room! Oh how they grow up so fast. Who will this be harder on, mom or Ellie? Definitely mom! Hearing her little snorts, grunts, toots, and inch worm movements during the night are pretty adorable.
We have found a daycare for her that we think is going to be a great place for her to hang out while daddy and mommy work on bringing home the bacon. And she'll even be close to her Great Aunt Cynthia and Uncle Samir! Ellie got to meet her Uncle Samir for the first time this week. Other visits included an evening spent with her Great Aunt Cynthia and Uncle Samir as well as her Great Great Aunt Sandy and Uncle Jim.
She spent her 7 week birthday (I wonder how long we will be celebrating weekly birthdays?!?) at Grandma Cassandra's house. Most popular birthday activity, umm eating...for mom and Ellie. No surprises there! Birthday brunch was a great way to kick off the day. Other activities included having her picture taken, tummy time, and sliding down a pillow.
And the newest development, falling asleep on daddy's chest. Definitely the highlight of this past week!!

Someone loves her daddy!!
Hanging with Grandma Cassandra
Still loving her vibrating chair
Apparently it is possible to just get cuter and cuter...
...but we wanted to show that yes she does cry (with a cute snorting pug sound)...
...but tends to recover pretty quickly!
Sleeping like her dad, one hand out to the side
A month and a half old and sporting the 3 month sleeper...I see the 6 month outfits in our very near future!

6 Weeks Old Already!
Ellie celebrated her 6 week birthday this past Thursday. She has definitely found her hand and her thumb! She wakes up each morning (after eating and being changed) with a nice big smile. She is working on her voice and has quite the assortment of coos and squeals. We don't want to brag (okay too late) but she is quite the strong little cookie...might need to start her on a baby training program :) But for now tummy time with the Boppy pillow will do! Ellie doesn't have a set routine, but she does let her parents get pretty good chunks of sleep during the night...if you consider 3-4 hours a good chunk of time :) She had her second lunch date as well, sushi with Auntie Annie and Uncle Colin!
So easy to get up in the morning when you have this smile waiting for you!
Our little lady in pink!
Just stretching out...love those rolls :)
All sorts of fancy chairs to choose from...but apparently her car seat is the perfect place to take a snooze!!
So cuddly!
This little piggy went to the market...
Worn out from her modeling shoot
Awkward sleeping positions. We say whatever works!
Apparently daddy doesn't always make her smile
Baby workout time! She's getting ready for the Olympics? WNBA? Maybe some LPGA action? Let's hope she gets daddy's athleticism and not mommy's lack of coordination!
Fed, burped, now just chillin'
